Z Calibration Failure I3 Mk3
I am having problems getting my new I3 MK3 to pass the calibration steps. When I run the test, the extruder arm behaves as expected, moving all the way to the top, the motors grind to ensure the arm is level, and then it begins to go down to search for the calibration points. As soon as the arm reaches the bed, the test reports "Calibration Failed!" The extruder head does not move horizontally at all like I have seen in the introduction videos. During the process, the head is fully to the left and the bed is fully to the rear. I do note that when the head stops moving, no part of the PINDA head is inside the target circle. It is about one target circle diameter below and to the left of the printed target. The PINDA red light does go out as the arm reaches the bed. I have the latest firmware installed. If I select the "auto home" option, the probe moves instantly to the 1st calibration point.
Please help! Right now it looks like I bought a very expensive paperweight.
Re: Z Calibration Failure I3 Mk3
Can you give us some pictures,
sometimes the X axis lead screws can be accidentally installed upside down,
sometimes the Extruder can be installed too low...
and I guess there are other ways to upset the applecart.
so if we can see the tops of the X axis Ends, where the Z leadscrew nuts are, and the bottom on the extruder where the cold end heatsink fits into the extruder plastics, that would be a start!
regards Joan
