RE: Z-banding problem. Anyone recognize this problem?
After putting my mk3s+ in an enclosure, moving the PSU etc. And then doing basic maintenance (tightening everything and cleaning/lubricating),
Im now getting this even spiral artifact while trying to print a tube.
RE: Z-banding problem. Anyone recognize this problem?
That's your seam. Do you have "print external perimeters first" checked in the options in slicer? Uncheck it. Also, choose to use the seam painter so you can choose where those show up. Do think about whether you can use a spiral print instead of a sliced layer by layer one. There are no seams on spiral prints once the spiral starts.

@dan-rogers
Hi, thanks for the message. I don't think i had external perimeters first selected, I set everything back to recommended settings and tried again with the same result. As for the seam, its a new issue and i've never changed the seam setting and alway got good results.

Interesting - so you have printed it before and never had that blobbing. There was another question here the other day for a cylinder print that had exactly the same seam spiral around the part. I don't remember how they settled that - but I think it was "just sand them off afterwards"
RE: Z-banding problem. Anyone recognize this problem?
I have a perfect print from a couple of days ago so something changed. Will have to keep investigating. (big eye roll and sigh)

I noticed you posted a gcode file for this on the print library - there isn't anything I can do with a gcode file other than reproduce what you already are getting. Can you post the STL or the .3mf? Or even better yet, the 3mf saved from Prusa Slicer that is creating this prnt.
