Z-Axis Threaded Rod Alignment
Hello All,
I just finished assembling a Mk3. It passes XYZ calibration and all other setup tests. However, both of the Z-Axis threaded rods are pulled inward towards each other, regardless of whether the Mk3 is printing or switched off. The rods do not stay positioned under the Z-Axis Top Parts. Also, there is a loud squeaking noise when the extruder carriage moves up and down the Z-Axis rods.
I don't know if this is normal or if any adjustments can resolve the inward pulling: would appreciate an troubleshooting starting points (there didn't seem to be similar issues mentioned in the forums).
Tried taking a photo, but it did not show the extent of the inward pull.
Thanks for any help.
RE: Z-Axis Threaded Rod Alignment
Firstly, thanks to Alessandro and Tommy in Live Chat for the hours of help troubleshooting this issue.
Secondly, the MK3 is a beast - despite having been assembled under tension where tension doesn't belong (i.e. the banana shaped z-axis threaded straight rods), it still calibrated, worked somewhat and bounced right back when assembled correctly.
So, the issue was that the x-axis was not perfectly square, which not only caused inward bowing of the z-axis threaded and straight rods, it shortened the x-axis path, which kept triggering an error during calibration.
Onward with the learning curve.
