Y-AXIS CALIBRATION PROBLEM
Having trouble calibrating the XY axis on my i3mk3.
The printer goes up to test the z-axis and tops of at the top. Then, it goes down to the bed and looks for the calibration point, but does not bring the Y-axis to the correct area first - in other words, if the bed happens to be in the middle of the Y-axis then the printer will start searching for a calibration point in the middle. It tries for a few minutes and then tells me the calibration has failed.
ALSO - I can pass calibration by "cheating" - by pre-setting the bed to the home area prior to Y-axis calibration. Then the printer goes through all four calibration points successfully.
However, when I do it this way, I can get one print done, but after the first one, the printer will not remember I think where the Y-axis zero point is - and will start new prints wherever the bed happens to be on the Y-axis.
RE: Y-AXIS CALIBRATION PROBLEM
Update : After some further research, It may be a leveling issue - I will check the mounting surface for level and try again.
RE: Y-AXIS CALIBRATION PROBLEM
Update 2: I fixed it by doing 2 things: (1) Put the printer on a properly level surface, and (2) Slightly loosened the Y-axis belt. Once these two things were done, the printer ran through the calibration sequence properly, finding all four calibration points on the bed.
