Y-axis belt alignment - is this wrong?

I’m building the MK3S+ kit, and I’ve completed the y-axis assembly. The y-axis belt appears to be aligned properly in the sense that both the top and bottom rows of teeth appear to line up… however, the entire belt seems to line up on one side of the pulley. It is also on the same side of the idler (not pictured).  If I slide the belt over to the center of the pulley, it will drift back to this side as the assembly is moved back and forth. Is this a problem?  I’m concerned about excess friction and wear on the belt, but is this normal?

I had the same issue when I assembled my MK3S. I wanted the belt to ride more in the middle of the gear and used these spacers.

I ditched the original motor mount and went with an improved one found on the print library.  It repositions the motor slightly and gives you more room to adjust the pulley position.
