X-axis layer shifts
I just built my kit, this past week. After initial calibration, things seemed OK. I printed the planetary gear, Prusa logo, and Buddy files from the SD with no issue. I printed another planetary gear, and noticed that there were layer shifts in the print. I checked the belt tensions, and they feel OK. The calibration menu shows that X and Y are both around 265. It's not always the same layers, and I even get this shift on layer one. The printer also shows no crashes detected in the Support menu.
I printed the 3x3 bed height calibration to see if this was happening only in a certain area, and because I had yet to print anything that had a very large print area.
I've been trying , all weekend, and just cannot seem to figure it out. 😔
RE: X-axis layer shifts
Hello,
I would verify how the screws of the X pulley are tighten on the X axis motor. You need to tighten first the screw on the flat part of the X axis motor and only after the second screw of this pulley, otherwise the pulley could rotate around the axis and create layer shifting.

RE: X-axis layer shifts
Turned off crash detection, and every print since has been fine.
RE: X-axis layer shifts
Does your X axis move smoothly by hand?
If there is any uneven resistance it could be seen as collisions...
Did you lubricate your smooth rods during assembly?
