X-axis alignment issues

Hi there.  I have recently received my i3 Mk3S kit and I'm having some print quality problems.

The printer is calibrating fine and belt tension is within the acceptable range (278) but the layer alignment in the X-plane is poor.  I have attached an image to show you what I mean.  Y and Z planes are nice and smooth.

I have obviously done something wrong but can't work it out.  Any suggestions would be most welcome.

RE: X-axis alignment issues

For small layer shifts like that the first thing to check is that your pully isnt loose on the stepper motor.  The grub screw has to be tight and aligned with the flat and then the second 'set' screw needs to be tightened to lock the first in place. If you dont follow that sequence they work loose over time.

Once you know that its correct and working I draw a small line in sharpie that goes from the motor to the pulley.  That way you can see if its moved easily.

Thank you.  I have checked the pulley and although tight enough, the belt was rubbing against the housing slightly so I have readjusted and set a benchy to print as a test.

@foyler

Is the pulley the correct way round, with the hub towards the end of the shaft!
