What's that noise?

Hey there,

I've just finished assembling my MK3 yesterday and so far it seems to be printing just fine. There's just some semi random
rattling noise I can distincly hear whenever printing.

Here's a video:

What could be causing this?

Unsure, but two things.

Your extruder Idler Door Screws on the left side are quite screwed in. adjustment is shown in the below video.

Check out this Prusa video and see if any of these help you.

Could be the LCD. The screws that hold it to the case are quite tight, and take more force than seemingly necessary to fully secure the module. Easy to tell by just holding your finger on the display when you hear the rattling.

Re: What's that noise?

You can also get intermittent click/crackling noise during printing if the extruder gear is not exactly aligned with the filament and teflon tubing.
If the drive gear is a little too far in/out on the motor shaft, the filament will excessively rub against the teflon tube. Because, the extruder creates little notches in the filament, a misalignment causes those notches to make a clicking noise as they catch the teflon tube end. The extruder will still work, but you get a rattle/crackle each time the extruder feeds more filament.

Check this with a filament loaded. Undo the two extruder idler door screws and swing the idler up out of the way. Look at the extruder, filament and teflon tubing. The groove of the extruder drive should be guiding the filament directly into the center of the teflon tube. If necessary, adjust the extruder drive gear position to get good alignment.

Did you ever solve the problem?

If yes, what was the source and what fixed it?
