Upgrading Mk3S => Mk3S+, can't load filament and X axis length error?
Hi All, I've printed lots of things through my Mk3S and it has been very reliable. I upgraded it with the Mk3S+ upgrade kit, and getting back to first print has been more trouble than I expected.
Self test errors out with X-axis length error. And yet, manually driving the print head full left to full right works fine in settings. So I'm trying to figure out why *that* test seems to fail (improvement idea: go ahead and test the other axes if one fails?) Prior to running self test I ran Z calibrate and that works fine. It hits all 9 test points and doesn't complain. As a result this error is annoying but I don't think it is fatal.
The second problem is that I can't load filament. Basically the E-axis stepper doesn't seem to be operating. This wasn't too surprising when I opened up the electronics and it wasn't plugged in, but I then plugged it in and it still doesn't seem to get power.
I'm particularly annoyed because I felt I really nailed the flexwrap stuff and the wiring from the E-axis to the Einsy is really clean! I am not looking forward to opening that up again so if there are some other tests first, I'd like to figure that out.
One note, I did *not* replace the existing Filament sensor wiring (although I did replace the filament sensor) as the filament sensors are "the same" (according to the assembly manual, just improved) this seemed like a reasonable choice. I think I'm going to go back and check that too.

RE: Upgrading Mk3S => Mk3S+, can't load filament and X axis length error?
Did you check to see if the filament sensor is working? you can check this on the LCD screen by going to SETTINGS-FILAMENT SENSOR. A "0" means the sensor is not sensing any filament and a "1" indicates the sensor is seeing the filament.
RE: Upgrading Mk3S => Mk3S+, can't load filament and X axis length error?
Yeah, that was one of my first checks after I posted as I only recalled that I hadn't replaced the filament sensor cable. It is working fine.
I then went to settings, pre-heated the hotend for PETG and then to the Extruder settings to manually run the extruder. That seemed to work which was interesting, so I went back to load filament and then that started working. So I'm wondering if there is a firmware bug I'm chasing (the printer seems to have everything hooked up as it should), I was able to do a first layer calibrate and now I'm doing a test print. It looks like the first layer came out so fingers crossed it is back in business.
I would still like to figure out what is going on with the X axis self test that fails.
