Torque List?
Is there a list of torque values for the MK3 assembly?
Re: Torque List?
Tighten evenly and carefully as you might break the printed parts.
Isn't that clear enough ? 😛
Actually, this is a good question, I don't know the answer but I've seen a comment about it on the Thomas Sanladerer kit assembly video
( )
The guy says it's around 4 Nm, but again, I'm not sure.
Re: Torque List?
I too left a note for Jakub in the online assembly manual asking for torque settings for the assembly. He said he'd pass the request off to the engineers. No reply yet.
Things are tight on my kit, but I have no idea if I'm causing long-term damage to the unit by over tightening stuff. And this is denying me the opportunity to get a new tool. 👿
Re: Torque List?
I'm building my MK3 this weekend (so exciting!). After watching Thomas' build, I was expecting details in the assembly guide regarding torque values, all ready to acquire a torque driver. In the manual I see one chapter that talks about appropriate torque the only other references are something like "don't over tighten". Torque values or guidelines depending on kind of parts would be helpful.
Re: Torque List?
There are specific instructions for one critical item - the U bolts on the Y carriage. This is a 'touch' plus angle specification. The other ones really are up to feel. The torque would be pretty low - do you have a tool on hand that could work for this job? I'd be curious to know what tool you have.
Re: Torque List?
I use finger tight on the small end of the allen key as a guide
