Top of spires on castle went blobby

I printed the included  `Castle_0.1mm_PLA_MK3S_13h55m.gcode` in the silver PLA included with the printer

Just the top of some of the spires and especially the top spire went blobby:

Any ideas? My benchy was perfect.

It may be that the previous layers do not get a chance to cool when the spires get tiny. Try increasing "Slow down if layer print time is below" under "Filament Settings -> Cooling".

@steven-p8

Thanks, I printed straight from the included gcode files so i wondered if it was a hardware problem - I would have assumed the included files would print correctly with a correctly setup printer?

I have a feeling that this is not the issue since the spires at lower z-levels fail in a similar way when there is more to print on the same layer elsewhere.

I can also see some poor extrusion in other spots where small details are being printed. My first attempt would be to make sure the extruder gears are tightened properly.
