Too noisy?
Hi,
I've seen countless reviews praising the quietness of the MK3. It's my first 3D printer and I'm wondering if the noise in the attached video is normal ... and if not how I could look to reduce it?
Thanks
Re: Too noisy?
I can't hear anything in the video at all. No sound (not even normal operation). Maybe the audio levels are messed up?
Re: Too noisy?
Mine also sounds the same. My z axis at high speed home sounds terrible. And, depending on what I print, I get a computer sounding beeps coming from the printer.
Re: Too noisy?
My MK3 makes beeping noises too (Stealth Mode gets rid of some of the beeping). Not really a bother, because the printer sits in another room. But it would be good to know if this is normal, or if I need to adjust something.
Re: Too noisy?
I have exactly the same noise but only when printing diagonally (both solid layers and infill).. sounds like a drunk lumberjack with a rusty saw..
I have checked if anything rubs but all is as it should be and other patches/prints are silent as should be.
It doesn't seem to affect the print quality and I hope someone can confirm it is ok (not that I am burning out a motor or something)
thank you and happy printing!
/Cees
Re: Too noisy?
I have this exact same issue. It's very noisy but only when making that sawing diagonal motion, and sometimes when the Y axis is making long straight moves.
Silent mode helps with this, but even with silent mode it's audible from another room sometimes.
Anyone ever find any kind of solution or reason for this noise?
Just yesterday took apart the bed and the y axis, checked the bearings, readjusted the tightness on the bearing U bolts, but no real change.

Likewise.

I don't know the reason, but mine doesn't sound like anything's being damaged beyond normal wear & tear.
I expect an enclosure would help considerably.
That's "MISTER Old Fart" to you!
