Third print issue.

Just assembled my printer this weekend and started printing today. Printed a treefrog and benchy with no issues. I have been trying to print the Adalinda dragon, and this keeps happening. I've cleaned the bed with alcohol both times. Is this an issue with layer height?

Re: Third print issue.

It looks like you don't have the nozzle quite close enough to the bed. If lowering your Live Z a bit doesn't help, remove the sheet and wash it with soap and water. There are some things alcohol can't get off of the PEI.

EDIT: Now that I look at it again, it looks like you have a ripple in the belly. If that is actually a ripple, that means your nozzle is too close to the bed. Try printing a 10x10cm square so you can get the Live Z adjusted properly.

Yes, looks like nozzle way too close. The filament looks crimped to the bed.

However, if you look at the skirt, it looks very much as though the nozzle is too high.

Re: Third print issue.

Unfortunately the picture was captured in the middle of the second layer so it skews things. I haven't checked the gcode files included with the MK3 but I know that Slic3r now has 3 layers as the default for the skirt/brim which would account for that looking too high.

A simple 100mm x 100mm single layer square would be much more useful to determine the issue, but it does look as though the extruder is too high off the bed.

Well, for someone who doesn't waste time or filament on a skirt or brim, that's one hell of a waste!

Agreed! It took me 2 prints before I noticed the skirt was printing a second and third layer. Changed it real quick after that.
