Spool holder position
I just successfully finished my first assembly, doing some test prints.
This might have been brought up before, and I apologize if this has been answered, but I couldn't find the answer with some searches.
Is there official Prusa comment on spool holder position choice?
It makes me a bit nervous as at the very least its adding unnecessary vibrations sitting on top of the frame while unwinding.
As well as possible snags that could knock the spool off and damage the printer. I'm looking through possible mods to put the spool besides the printer and add some guide, or at least separate it from the printer frame.
Re: Spool holder position
its not that bad center top. maybe not worry until you start speeding up the printer.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Check out Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/ , there are dozens of designs for spool holders and filament guides, up to "reverse bowden" feeds where you run a PTFE tube from the extruder to, well, wherever you want to have it.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3174164 shows my setup - but there are probably as many ways to set up the filament as there are people with printers 🙂 .
