Shifting in X and comming backto origin position
Hello friends,
By printing a part of a wing for a RC-Sailplane, i got several times the same issue:
After a reaching a certain height of 100-120mm. the surface is getting worse due to layer shift in X. the higher the more worse. At 160mm and up the layer shift is really visible. Means that the layers are shifting away more and more AND ARE SLOWLY COMMING BACK to their origin position! This happens several times and is takes always 3-6 layers slowly shifting to the right and takes also 3-6 layers to come back to the wanted position.
It's not always, seems to come more often, the more parts are printed a tthe same time!?
I really cannot say what it depends on.
please see the pictures.

With such a tall thin part its likely the material is flexing. The higher you go the more it will move, a bit like a tall tree moves more at the top.
You could design in some lateral break away support at 90 degrees to the main wing direction to reduce it.
