Selftest error (X-axis)
Hi, during the self-test, I saw the extruder travelling across the x-axis fine. However, it game me:
Selftest error!
Please check :
Axis length
Axis X
Could you please let me know what to do? The extruder moved left and right fine.
RE: Selftest error (X-axis)
But how far? It's a length error - something is limiting range.
RE: Selftest error (X-axis)
It does not say by how far. I have checked already that the X motor is driving x-axis motion and that it is tightened securely against the flat of the shaft. After the extruder stopped moving, there is a gap of about 0.75cm between the extruder and the orange printed part.
RE: Selftest error (X-axis)
It is telling you X length is wrong. This is generally from the axis not moving far enough (not reaching a 210+ mm range). Usually the builder has left wires or cable ties in the wrong spots, used wrong screws to attach things, or added parts that cause problems.
Saying what exactly is wrong is impossible without being in front of the printer. Post a photo of the extruder from the left side and looking straight down.
RE: Selftest error (X-axis)
Thank you. After I rearranged the cables, my printer passed the tests. Nevertheless, I will post some photos shortly to check if my way of arranging the cables is good.
Now I am at the "measuring reference height of calibration points 1 to 9". According to the video, I put the thin sheet on top of the heat bed by inserting the two holes on the thin sheet into the two pines on the heat bed. However, the center to center distance between the two pins is about 14.3 cm while that of the smooth thin sheet (and also the rugged thin sheet) is 14.7 cm. Did I get the wrong heat bed?
RE: Selftest error (X-axis)
you have the sheet reversed. the holes are not used. printing should face you and the V notch in the rear should be up against the 2 screws

Thanks. Why there are two holes there?
