Self test - Heater/Thermistor not connected

Running the self test -- keep getting the error "Selftest error!"
Please check: " Heater/Thermistor Not connected."

I've checked the extruder connection and hotend thermistor connection within the einsley board -- and all appears fine.

The bed heats up just fine - the hot end looks like it stays at 26 degrees C on the lcd display.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Mike

I can't tell if something is wrong with the wiring on the side of the hotend.

Check that the thermistor cables are OK. It is very easy to damage these (clamping damage) during installation. The resistance of the thermistor should be about 120 kohms at room temperature.
If you get 0 ohms then the cable is damaged. If you find the damage, you can easily solder the cable again.

I've confirmed it is the hotend wires that must be damaged.

When it's heating up, if I push the red wires against the hotend, it will heat up, when I let go, it will stop heating up.

Can I just solder these wires as well? I have a solder gun, though don't have much experience at all.

Alright I ended up talking with online chat - and they have a claim in for a new heat unit (hotend). Kind of just digging closer since Im curious and would like to get something working inbetween now and when I replace it.

I've moved the red sheathing back, and even cut-away the white covering.. though I am not noticing anything that seems amiss. Besides the red circle on the image, though that just appears to be something else, doesn't look like that should be connecting to anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
