Self test failure, X-Axis Length

After assembling my prusa MK3, I'm attempting to run it through the wizard it brings up when first started up, and during the selftest section of it, it is encountering an issue with my x axis. It is saying to check axis length of the x axis. I cant find the guide for fixing this issue. If anyone knows a fix, or where the guide is, I would appreciate it.

Re: Self test failure, X-Axis Length

Hi Tyler,
this may be because wires or cable ties are touching the frame at one end of travel or the other,
or
it could be because you tightened the X axis Idler wheel bolt a little too much, and the plastic side cheeks are causing friction on the sides of the idler wheel,
or
there could be friction in the linear bearings of the x axis
or
you could have tightened the X axis back plate too much...
or
I could be totally wrong! 😯

regards Joan

I must acknowledge that I worded things poorly. It seems the conveyor itself is longer than it expects, or that, my assumption is its seeing something weird based off an lack of tension. It definitely seems to be skipping if anything. It can move about freely on its own, but it skips enough that a print would be all but certain to fail.

Doh!....

in that case,
Slack belt, or
loose motor pulley screw ( screw should be screwed in against the centre of the flat on the motor shaft)
are the most likely issues...

Alright, it seems to be trying to run it off the sides when its testing, which is when it skips now, I honestly have to admit, I just didn't think for some reason when I replied, it was doing that when I replied last time.
