Problem: Y axis shifting slightly on a single layer 4+ hours into print, then the print continues normally
I've only tried two prints that were 9-10 hours long and on both occasions the axes seem to shift slightly and change the printers frame of reference, it then continues the prints without anymore issues but is no longer aligned with the first portion of the print. Can anyone help me out? I am just using the standard slicer profiles for 0.1mm layer height and do not have this issue on any print less than 5 hours long. The only odd thing I noticed during the printing of the Switch controller grip was the nozzle dragging on the infill during one of the movements. Could the nozzle be getting caught and shifting the frame of reference? Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Problem: Y axis shifting slightly on a single layer 4+ hours into print, then the print continues normally
I just encountered the same problem, after several months of flawless printing, I tried a large print and had the y axis shift back by about a millimetre. I just flashed the latest firmware prior to the print.
Anyone have any knowledge as to why this happens and how to prevent it, I just wasted almost 30 hours of printing and 90 metres of filament.

The y axis shift happened twice on the same print, the second time it shifted forward back to the original alignment.
Otherwise a perfect print!

Ok, I should have searched a bit more before posting. The problem was most likely caused by a loose belt.I'll tighten them up a bit and see what happens on my next big print.
Re: Problem: Y axis shifting slightly on a single layer 4+ hours into print, then the print continues normally
I've had the same issue with the current 3.3.1 firmware and lost 7.5 hours into a print. I believe it is the crash detection again detecting non existent crashes and failing to resume correctly. I disabled crash detection and reprinted the whole 12 hour print without further issue. I have left this "feature" disabled on both of my Mk3's now as I cannot rely on it.

In my experience so far this is either a loose belt or crash detection going out of control on you.
