Printing fails - unknown issue

Hi,

I encountered a unknown print fail. The bed got recently leveled. Obviously (to the left) there might be some ringing or Level-height inbalances,, but I can't understand the origin of fail what's going on to the right edge - seems, like the nozzle somewhat tries to peel off the printed layer??

Thanks

That looks like fingerprints... causing reduced adhesion!

For real? 😅

Okay.. I righteously wiped the unheated plate with isopropyl - maybe this wasn't as good as to have it cleaned with dishwashing soap? Hm..

Thanks!

IPA can spread finger prints more evenly over a larger area and then evaporate... leaving the grease behind. if you use enough IPA and enough fresh paper towels, you can clean the bed. if you turn the ipa soaked paper towel over and use the other side, you may be transferring fresh grease off your fingers, back onto the  build plate.  suitable gloves may prevent this additional issue.

Dish soap binds the grease to surfactants and the rinsing washes them away...
It works for me.

It costs very little to try...
Wash rinse and dry immediately...I use a new sponge, so I know it is uncontaminated. and I keep it separate specifically for cleaning build plates!
Is your build plate removable?  this is the Mk3 printer thread, but the build plate doesn't look like mine...
washing the build plate on the printer is a bad idea.
I always detach my build plate and take it to the sink.

Okay,

I now cleansed the plate with Dishwashing Soap AND rubbed it off with Isopropyl. Great results!

Thanks again...

Thanks @joantabb

I only clean the plate on the sink and with kitchen wipes.

The build plate is a China one, true - but doesn't matter but it's cheaper with no shipping fees (Amazon)

I also use Chinese build plates...

do kitchen wipes leave an antibacterial film on the surface? if so, that may reduce adhesion

Hi Kim,

You probably don't need the additional IPA Wipe..
