Off and running (Kit arrived this evening)

Well off and running my kit arrived this evening in fine condition as far as I can see...

One rather humorous thing; when I was inventorying the contents of the kit and counting out the fastener hardware I found I had been sent a UK power supply flex with the heavy 3 prong fused plug... its hardly a problem as like most nerds I have a closet of tech history that probably has over a dozen of these things acquired over the last 40 years or so... I think I started getting stuff that use this flex design in the mid 70s... I just need to be sure to select one with a ground pin plug as some of the early ones did not yet they could be plugged into gear that had the 3 prongs... this of course would create a floating ground. if i find any of the 2 prong type while I am searching I should toss them

wish me luck

Check over the printed PETG parts carefully. I found (halfway through the build) that a couple were damaged--little tabs broken off that affected functionality. PR sent replacements, but the half-built kit sat on the kitchen table for a couple weeks until they arrived. 🙁

wish me luck

OK, but you didn't specify good or bad... __ 🙄 __ 😮 __ 😀

That's "MISTER Old Fart" to you!

Re: Off and running (Kit arrived Sept 26)

I finished all but the BondTech needle bearings and I should have those by this time tomorrow.. I went ahead and did the preflight stuff and because I can, I set the P.I.N.D.A height to exactly 1mm above the nozzle ... I have no Idea if that will work out better using the zip tie thickness which varies quite a bit between 1.10 and 1.26 mm I figure once it is dialed in I will use gauge blocks to have and record the actual hight deference between nozzle tip and sensor bottom, into the printer log book I make for the MK3.
Remember folks, if you don't record every thing about your process in some sort of log paper or electronic, you are just messing with the things. if you keep good records you can spot trends and refine your methods.

FedEx fail on the needle bearing delivery they say that if it makes the sort tonight in Memphis I will have it by 14:00 tomorrow Wed the 2ed... the normal shipping excuses (they need to come up with some new excuses just for the variety) but some how it ended up KASTRUP, DK instead of Memphis TN last night... 🙁

On the other hand that international Air cargo and small parcel systems work as well as they do is a true Modern Miracle :geek: of the information age.
