New Kit, Bad PINDA Probe

As fate would have it, my newly assembled i3 mk3 is perfect in every way... apart from the PINDA probe not working ! 🙄

The red light doesn't come on, and it looks like there is some kind of internal short in the probe itself, check out these temperature readings:

I did no preheating, nothing other than turning on the power, and yet the PINDA probe is heating itself up significantly!

I'm a bit annoyed that Prusa doesn't test the probes they ship out with new kits. A quick plug in would result in no red light and strange temperature behavior, an obviously faulty sensor. I guess quality control comes later when you are a few months behind on orders...

Also, their support and chat seem to be completely overwhelmed, but luckily I found this local source for the probe:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/263599040632

I have a feeling it will arrive before I even hear back from Prusa... oh well, as long as it gets this baby up and printing!

Anyone else get a new kit with a bad PINDA? (mine has a grey tip and grey wire, just like the ebay link)
