Need some quality help

Hello All,

I assembled, and have been using my MK3S+ for about a year now. But after starting the swamp cooler in my shop this summer I now know what problems can be caused by high humidity.  But in the process I rechecked all the printer hardware for proper torque and changed the print head, cleaned and re-lubed the rails.  Then I converted a dehydrator into filament dryer, but after the changes I'm still having finish problems.

I have put 14 pictures in my dropbox for your viewing, I have been printing the 3DBenchy for testing, and would really like some feedback on what is going wrong.  I have noticed in the many Benchy's I have printed the first 3/4 of a inch seems more ruff and tends to clean up  above that.  I have printed many 2d projects that were less than 3/4 of a inch, have I maybe warn a belt out?

If you need any other pictures or information just ask.

If the link has problems please let me know.

Thanks,
Bryan

To start, Are you sure you have your Z offset perfect?  It looks like the first layer may not be ideal on one f the Benchies, but it might be photo quality also.

@bryanp

Based on your images your Z adjustment looks a bit high, as cwbullet mentioned close up photos of the bottoms can sometimes be deceiving, so it would be a good idea for you to confirm for yourself that your first layer is set properly. ( its one of the most impotent things to achieving good prints)

As I look at the photos it appears to me that your filament still had a high moisture content at the time you printed the example benchies, as well you did not mention what type or brand of filament you were printing with, this can be very helpful information when trouble shooting, as all types and brands are not created equal.

This is a list of recommended drying times from the Print Dry company, it assumes certain RH and Ambient temperatures.

you may be able to use this in conjunction with your dehydrator to improve your drying. In some areas and

with some filaments you will need to dry the filament as your printing with it, and of course ditch the swamp cooler

or move the printer to a controlled environment.

Good Luck, hope this helps
