My First Print - Looks good but some small errors 🙂

This is the first print from the SDCARD. The printer arrived on Monday and I took my time putting it together, four evenings a couple hours each time.

I'm very impressed with this first print although I think I need to check my belts. Does look like the Y axis is rubbing against the edge of the pulley, not sure if that would cause the artefacts that I can see. But compared to my first printer about 5 years ago (a K8200 from Maplin) to get results like this first time on a self build kit is very impressive. 🙂

First congratulations on assembling your printer and making your first print.

Your live adjust is to high it needs to be more negative. See my first Benchy below for comparison. With regards to your Y belt I believe that you are correct but check the X axis one as well. Also check that your Z covers are not tight against the motors. Now the posatives. The bridging at the top of the doors, portholes and anchor holes looks good. You also avoided the heat artefact on the bow (I failed there.)

My First Benchy (printed in February) For Comparison

The Benchy Fleet

4 on the left are PETG, The Silver Grey one is Prusa PLA and the remaining 3 are PLA+.

Thanks for the feedback and advice Martin. I just checked the X axis and the pully 'may' have been a little loose. 😳 Sorted out now, doing second print. Yes I did wonder about my live adjust, will adjust that a bit more.

Your reference prints are great thanks for sharing. 🙂

Nailed it 🙂

For a second print for a kit, out of the box settings using the supplied print, all I can say WOW!

This printer is £100 cheaper than my first kit printer 5 years ago, a K8200. That took two solid days to build and weeks to fine tune and learn to use it. Going from that printer to this one is like when I upgraded from an N95 to an iPhone 3GS. Light years apart. Great work Prusa Team. 😎

Firmware: 3.2.1-576 The one it came with.
File: MK3_PLA_Benchy_150um_2h.gcode Came from the supplied sdcard.

Now time to try my own prints sliced by me. 🙂
