Mk3s vibrating sound on Y-axis movement
Hi.
I'm a new proud owner of the Prusa Mk3s. After a few prints I decided to tighten my belts because they were rather loose.
Now during printing I sometimes get a vibrating sound, almost as if there were some lose part vibrating. It happens on some movements, but not on others. It seems that it's somehow related to Y-axis movement.
Print quality does not seem to be impacted.
Worst part is, I can't properly locate where the sound is coming from, carefully placing my hand on various parts during those sounds does not dampen it, but I think it sounds like its coming from somewhere below the headbed where I can't reach it during printing. I can't for my life figure out where its coming from, every screw I've found appears to be tightened.
What could be the issue here?

I have exactly the same issue when printing PETG. With PLA I don't have the noise. I thought something linked to the bed, but I didn't fount it yet.
Does anyone have an update?

Noise - the fun project
Start with eliminating resonance transmission. Go to the print library, search for "squash ball feet" - pick one you like, print that and buy four squash balls. Resonance gone.
Next tell us about the bearings. Did you pack them with grease before you assembled the printer? No? Full stop, do that next. (tear it down, pack the bearings). or do what I did, throw the X and Y bearings away and adapt your printer to Drylins (the MK3S+ is drylin friendly out of the box).
Next, download the belt tension gauge gcode and get yourself some Prusament PETG and print that. Tighten your belts to the middle of the sweet spot. Don't use any other type of filament - or this step won't help.
And from here the mods begin. The stock Y motor mount leaves the motor buzzing against the back frame on certain movements/infill patterns. You can print a replacement from some of the Y motor mounts on the print library. On my last MK3S+ I shimmed the Y motor on the stock mount by putting a piece of mylar between the MOTOR body and the back frame. That eliminates an intermittent loud Y motion buzz.
You can also investigate whether your front panel case cover is vibrating ... and use some modeling clay to fix that.
