Loud noise while printing on back end of build plate
My printer sounds like there's a minor demon inside.
When printing on the front half of the plate, it sounds very normal. But when it moves to the back half, the sound is similar to a wind tunnel.

My assumption is the rods need to be lubricated, but that doesn't seem to be helping. Any suggestions?

The smooth rods do need lubrication, that's a given but it's not going to fix your current problem.
Something is loose.
From time to time it's always worth checking no screws have worked loose as part of regular maintenance. Refer to the build manual, there are some that should not be overtightened ...
Check all the mounting screws on the Y carriage and the bearing mounts.
