I can't make much out in any but the 1st pic, but you are still a bit high in that one. There should not be those gaps between adjacent extrusions. You are very close, but continue to come down until those lines and the little gaps between the center and edges close up a bit more. When you remove the 75x75 part, you should not be able to pull apart the layers easily once you have the correct Live-Z setting.

Thanks for your instruction. Here are some results I had by reset my Prusa MK3S.

With your help and the support of @tim-m30. I get my Prusa back.

Can you all comment my article, because my thickness measurement is still not where Jeff said. I didn't get the exact 20 micrometer.

As you can see I made some progress. It takes a time, but the result is OK. As today I don't know if this is perfect.

See my test from z=-300 to z=-525

Ts

At 0,300 the first layer filament was totally separated. Each extrude filament is a single filament. the Surface was rough. At 0,375 the filament smells together. At 0,450 the filament heated to a homogenious material. The Surface at 0,475 was quite more rough that 0,450. The additional test with 0,500 and 0,525 showed a stronger surface with some very small bubbles and the top surface was getting more rougher.

So my result was z=-0,450 mm. The thickness measurement show 2,08-21,2 mcirometer.

z=-0,500 had the thickness of 21,8 to 22,5 and the z=-350 hard a thickness more the 23,5.

 

Do I need to optimize the z-Adjustment until I got the thickness of 20 micrometer?

Please ad your comment.

I'm looking for any help, because I try to learn as macho as possible.

I´m not sure, if these silk of the Spyder are also handle in that threat.

See that slik of spyder in the box. Today I had open up the window, because it was 25 C degrees.

Also see the failure in the side at a z-level. Looks like a damage? Or is that a small wind gust by opening the door of the room.  

Please provide me with any comment.

Hi! Just want to share my love for this calibration method! Ive only tried it for PLA, but im guessing they are all good. Im a total newbie and this really fixed my problems. With this method you get to feel the surface result and use your tactile sense (which is really well developed in humans btw) to choose your setting. That really helped me setting the correct value (or so I think) for the smoothest possible surface. Going to low gave a really raspy surface, and going to high the surface would split into strings very easily. After using this method my first layer is really smooth and uniform, and I got rid of all my adhesion trouble. I have had more than 7 days print time (30-40 parts) without any flaws on my i3 MK3 with 99% IPA cleaning between every print.

Thanks very much for this.  Is the gcode dependent for a 0.4 mm nozzle?  I often use a 0.6.  Is it possible to have code for a 0.6 and other nozzle sizes?

Unless something's changed, I believe the prints are for 0.40mm nozzles. You're welcome to download versions I've created for PLA and PETG for a range of nozzle sizes from 0.15 to 1.50mm. I've also got STLs and links for some other useful 1st layer calibration prints on that page that might be useful. Jeff's procedure really has made a big difference to my enjoyment of my Mk3. I use it whenever I do a nozzle swap, which is frequent.

Oh yes, they're simple prints, and everyone has their own preferences. I provided gcode after a few folks requested it when they found themselves in a chicken-or-egg situation after mounting a new nozzle. I keep these test prints in a calibration subdirectory on my SD card, with prints in every nozzle size generated for each of 4 filament types I commonly use (PLA, PETG, NGEN and XT).

It's hard to search in this thread but what's with those gcodes for PLA? It heats the PLA to 170 and the bed to 55 and my prusa starts emitting "Sleep" text messages and beeping noises. This is not the usual PLA temperature AFAIK, or is it?

Is this as designed?

Can someone tell me what the print speed is for the various elements of this gcode?  I tried opening it up with a text editor, and I have my own conclusion, but I wanted to verify them!

I am having some issues between the first layers on gcode i created vs the gcode in this calibration item, and I want to make my first layer speed match that of this calibration square.

Also, are all 3 the same speed (ABS, PLA, and PET)?

Look at the F numbers in the G commands, or leading the G F-less commands. These set the actual machine speed for print moves.

So based on this bit of the code from the ABS gcode below(I snipped out some of it), I would read the speeds as:

Skirt: F2160 mm/min (36mm/sec)

Inner Perimeter: F1728 mm/min (28.8mm/sec)

Outer Perimeter: F1296 mm/min (21.6mm/sec)

Skirt: F2160 mm/min (36mm/sec)

Assuming 2160 is the correct mapping for 36 mm/s.  But other things are taking place: Jerk, initial speed; and acceleration, how long does the move take to go from initial speed to selected speed. Short moves probably never each the speed selected.

Just got my MK3S and for the life of me I can not get good adhesion on first layer. Trying to follow this, and I think I have it, but still can not get adhesion on first layer. I am using textured steel sheet and this is what I have this far. I am at a loss here. Also, the last picture is after I raised nozzle back up to .850 and as you can see, it is not smooth like it was when I was slowly dropping it. Any help here?

What material are you printing with? I had a hell of time with PLA until I ignored the Prusa instructions and gave it a dunk and clean under the sink with Dawn dish soap. Even had to hit it with acetone. It works well now, but requires cleaning regularly.

Yes, I am using PLA. I have cleaned with 91% IPA. That is all I have done cleaning wise... Do my calibration prints look correct?!

The calibration prints look too low save -.775. Less negative numbers are higher. You're probably still a bit low (hard to tell from the small pics) but the prints should stick to the bed. Prusa only recommends 91%+ isopropyl alcohol for the textured sheet, but I found it wasn't enough initially. I think my sheet had some manufacturing residue left on it.
