Left hotfan not working
I just completed the build and run calibration. Fir fan fails and says to check wiring. I took a look and all seems correct. Is it likely that it is a dead fan with bad wiring?
Will this mean I need to replace the fan and take apart everything ?
RE: Left hotfan not working
All I can say is double check the manual, step 35:
https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/8.+Electronics+assembly/1052?lang=en
Make sure the connector is firmly seated.
Those Noctua fans are extremely reliable, but I guess anything can fail.
Fan is only held on with 4 screws. Disassembling the extruder is not necessary.

Thanks yes it seems like it is the fan maybe a bad wire. I will check the wires with a meter first but think thats the issue.

Just to let you know it turns out it was a faulty fan, probably the cable. Prusa support were great and got me a new fan shipped out in 2 days to canada. Got it installed and calibration complete am currently printing buddy as a test after the prusa name plate.
RE: Left hotfan not working
2 days to Canada is ridiculous! Anything I order from Prusa takes at least five days to the UK. 🙁
RE: Left hotfan not working
Glad it is working! Have fun!
RE: Left hotfan not working
Yeah was crazy fast. I spoke with support on Friday and they confirmed the fan was dead. They shipped a new one Monday and it arrived Wednesday. I stripped down the parts and rebuilt with the new fan. Then yesterday I ran the calibrations and after a few trys at the first layer calibration I finally managed to get my first two prints off with little bother.
So far it looks like my build was pretty good and not seeing to many issues.
