Layer Shift on First Print, Nefertiti Supports Fail
I've owned my printer for about a week. First layer Z height looks good and small test prints are OK. Ran into issues printing Nefertiti from SD card, where the side supports break off about when it hits the chin. Tried a Stegosaurus and had really bad layer shifts and breakage of supports.
Any suggestions? Pics attached of successful and failed prints. Currently running latest slicer 1.40.1 and FW 3.3.1
Re: Layer Shift on First Print, Nefertiti Supports Fail
I tried one print requiring (I assume) supports, and one support was long and lean, standing all on its own. During print this support partially separated from the bed and became somewhat of a mess later in the print. Thankfully the print completed just fine, but afterwards I played with Slic3r looking for some way to ensure that the support structure lent itself reinforcement by being one interconnected piece, but was unable to figure it out. Surely had that solo pillar of support material been connected to the other part of the support material that was only a few mm away, it would have remained functional through the print job.
