Infill issues
The exterior of my prints look fine and I've noticed no issues when it prints the walls, but I'm having issues with my infill.
This is most noticeable on large pieces, but it does occur on smaller parts too. There are two issues:
1) It moves much faster doing the infill than the walls and often sounds like something (the nozzle is the only thing that appears remotely close) is dragging at times. On large volumes of supports (generated by Slic3r) I have noticed the same dragging sound, but not to the extent I get with infill.
2) Previously I've noticed minor abnormalities in the infill, but on my current print it is much more pronounced than previously seen (also the largest volume of infill I've done so far). (see pic)
Any ideas what is going on and what needs to be adjusted?

try a different infill pattern...

Re: Infill issues
There are many things you can try, no1 being as Joan suggested. If your filament is old then no2 on the list for me would be to try a new roll.
Once you have done the two easy things above you can move on to the more "annoying" setting changes 😉
Re: Infill issues
Thanks to both of you. The filament is the Prusa silver that shipped with my printer (came 2 weeks ago) so I assume that it isn't the issue (though since then that roll has been finished so it's moot anyway).
The noise only seems to happen on pieces with large infill areas and only above a certain height (30mm?). That was the first time I saw any distortion of significance. Unfortunately I don't have anything on the block that I would expect to expose the noise issue, but I am playing with different infills to see what I like best.

I can relate exactly to the above. Check your z height as well. Try backing off a bit (more gap). With large infill, (especially applies to PETG) z level is more critical. More gap can cause the infill layers not too bond to previous, causing them to "float". But a z level too close can cause the infill to become uneven, leaving the surface rough and creating the wave effect on surface layers. It can be a real balancing act, which is more noticeable on large infill areas.
Good luck.

Thanks Joan, this seems to be it. I ran a couple larger prints last night and this morning that would have at least caused the dragging sound and using the Gyroid pattern didn't seem to have the problem. The parts also feel far more substantial even at a 20% fill which is definitely a bonus too.

Good to hear you got results
