I3 MK3S First prints (my first 3D printer)
First off, wanted to say... awesome level of quality on the instructions of this printer. It went together with no problems.
Upon first self test I did get the fan error in out, but in the forums I found the “select off, then select on”... and that got me through the self test A-ok.
I first printed the logo, then a whistle... then this morning I decided to try and grab a file off thingieverse, create G-Code, export and print. It created a blob on the first layer which the tip then pulled up the face of the Rex. I cancelled the print. Here’s the first layer of the Rex.
Not sure what I need to do... Bring Z-height down more?
Thanks!

first layer too high for sure. try to re-run first layer calibration and post a photo of it here, this is really too high
Re: I3 MK3S First prints (my first 3D printer)
I cancelled the second Rex print (which seemed to be going better) to adjust the Z height. I went from -0.850 to -0.9. Should I go lower, perhaps?

That dang line is SO tiny that it’s difficult to read what the proper “squish” level is, from the pictures in the book. =)

Yeah two things:
1. first layer should be really flat, you should not have any spaces between lines. If you see gaps, it's most probably nozzle too high. If you get gaps only on some places (every print same spot on the bed), you might ask support what they think of it.
2. First layer should be flat and smooth, nozzle should not engrave anything on it. If it does, nozzle is too low

set your live z with this method https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html it is far better than the zig zag method in the firmware

First layer is tough. Just don't rush it or you will too low and scratch your surface.

This ended up being the print after setting the Z height to -.95. I think it turned out pretty good!

Is the prusa badge printing better now, too? I've seen it come out very similar here.
