help with vertical banding?
Hello, please could I ask for an opinion about what could be the cause of this vertical banding that appears on the X and Y axis?
I recently assembled the mk3s and whilst I did have other issues, the X and Y consistency of the print is actually worse than that of the ender 5 I was using.
I am thinking belt(s) tension too high? Extruder idle screw possibly too tight (screw is on the very last turns before coming loose from the nut)
EDIT: forgot to mention, this is eSun PLA+ filament.
RE: help with vertical banding?
Both are possible causes, but that quality is not bad. I would adjust one item and reprint and determine which is the cause.

I'm trying to resolve the same problem, even after a Prusa warranty repair.
Prusa recommended stock slicer settings minus temps, a belt tension gauge, and the LCD belt test. I'm having inconsistent results based off the forums guides on how to read the gauge vs belt. Which is correct?
Machine is on a solid work bench.
Tighter belt = tension gauge reading in the middle, but the X belt test is 216. Still not a smooth wall.
Loosen belt = tension gauge reading in the minimum, but X belt test is 256. Like yours but with wavy vertical lines.
I have a Ender 3 V2 that was never tuned outside of filament temps that prints nice smooth stacked vertical lines. Doesn't matter which material I use. I've also spent much more time tinkering with the Mk3 to get it running. There are people on here with 20000hrs and I can't get past 500hrs without something occurring.

Sometimes slowing the print speed slightly helps with issues such as this. (Turn down speed with the front control knob as it is printing.)
