Help me figure out the problem

Hey makers,

What do you think is wrong with my newly assembled MK3?

Filament: was shipped with my MK2, so around 2 years old

I assume you are talking about the strings?

Check your Live Z using the "life adjust" process (don't have the link handy). My 0.05mm prints were very "hairy" as shipped assembled from the factory, but after I screwed something up and had to go through setup all over again I used the "life adjust" process and now my 0.05mm prints are nice and clean.

guys, something is wrong with slic3r. This is the third model which has missing layers. I've tried both stable and latest alpha. Have you ever experienced this?

That at least makes it appear that the issue is not with the printer then.

Is this a model you built or downloaded from somewhere? Have you tried another slicer (e.g. Cura) to see what it does? It could be that there are irregularities with the model itself.

Have you tried printing one of the included models off the SD card? How do they do?

If you designed the file yourself, maybe try to change your settings for stl generation. Resolution might play into defects in the file.

You may also want to try to scale the part in slicer to see if it still produces missing layers in the preview.
