Frog troubles

I assembled my Mk3 without any issues. I went through the wizard with issues. I have cleaned the bed. The issue I’m having is that the first layers are off. The belts seem pretty tight. Please see attached pictures. Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Frog troubles

Hi Josh,

It looks like you are getting small layer slips

if the frog was facing forward the problem is on the Y axis.

I suspect that your motor pulley grub screws are a bit loose. or in the wrong place.

your layer alignment seems to be moving backward and forward but not getting progressively worse in one direction... I suspect your grubscrews are not lined up with one facing the centre of the flat section on the motor shaft... I have stolen this picture off the mk2 assembly instructions, because it's more descriptive than the mk3 images
you may need to slacken the grub screws, re adjust the toothed motor pulley, and then tighten the screw facing the flat, first! followed by the second screw.

best wishes, Joan

That was it! Thank you sooo much, Joan!! Another quick question, I noticed that when it is getting ready to print it takes 9 reference points. This points aren’t equidistant to either side. In other words, it’s not taking them from the outside of the usable print area on one side. Is that normal?

Re: Frog troubles

Hi Josh,

Glad I could help!

the Pinda is offset from the nozzle, so offset test points are a necessary reality!
