First prints failing near end

I've tried to print two benchy boats from the SD card, both failed at the same place while I was watching. Overnight, I decided to try the dragon, also from the SD card, and this is what I woke up to. Everything looks really good up to the point of failure. What should I be changing?

What filament is that? It looks darker than Prusa Silver PLA of PURE EVIL.

As long as the objects are still attached to your print bed, I'm going to say that looks like a "temporary" jam.

What is the "mode of failure"

You said you were watching them.

Did the printer do anything? Any sounds?

Did it keep "moving" but no filament came out, and made clicking sounds?

Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.
Please feel free to donate to my filament/maintance fund.

We disabled Crash Detection and now have lots of excellent prints. That seems to have completely solved the problem.
