First print - stringing and re-homing while printing

I recently completed the build of my MK3 kit. The calibration wizard completed without issue.

I printed the Prusa logo and it came out like this

Looks ok, except for the small dimples on some of the corners of the letters. Not sure what caused that.

Then I tried printing the included treefrog with 50u layers. The print started out fine, with the first layers looking good. But as the print progressed, I noticed the printer was re-homing itself and then continuing with the print. This seemed to be happening more and more frequently. Before stopping the print at about 23%, it would sometimes rehome and continue after only a few seconds of printing.
The result looked like this

I thought that perhaps the belt tension on the X or Y axis was too high and was causing the crash detection to trigger, but both the readings in the Settings -> Belt status menu option are around 260. According to the manual, this is within spec.

Any ideas where I could start to diagnose this issue? Is the re-homing during printing normal?

Many thanks!
