First print feedback/tips

Hey,

I've just finished to build my i3 MK3S and here are my first tests prints.

Any feedback/tips to make them better are welcome. I think my first layer is "OK" (but far from perfect).

  • Prusament PLA included with the printer

  • Default temperature (215/60)

  • Default GCode included in the SD Card

1st Layer is way too high, It should look like this test target: smooth with all threads welded together.

First layer needs some improvement.

First Layer Calibration

First tell the firmware which sheet you have mounted (smooth or textured) the last Z setting you set will be stored by the firmware for that sheet.

You need to repeat this process for each different sheet type you use. The physical thickness of the textured sheet is thinner than the smooth sheet.

Never ever mislead the firmware about which sheet is current. That can dig trenches across the sheet - or print in the air.

Hope this helps.

@gkmakeit

I use the smooth sheet (I only have one sheet) with an Adjusting Z of -1.100.

The firmware of my printer is 3.8.1-2869.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your feedback @tim-m30
