First print complete, opinions?

Hi guys, just finished assembly on my mk3 kit so this is not only my first 3d print ive ever done its also on a printer i just spent 2 days building, with zero experience.

Anyways this is with included PLA filament with default settings and newest gcode for benchy from prusa website.

Opinions? little bit of stringing but honestly im shocked it turned out this well. I was picturing it looking like a giant ball of mess and me crying in the corner of the room, lol

Nice job. Hard to say from that angle, but all I see is a wee bit of stringing that you can work on with retraction. Congratulations! You're now about to be the proud owner of an every-growing fleet of tiny plastic boats.

Wierd about the stringing is that it's not happening at all on my second print. Its a simple box/organizer and much larger than the benchy, but zero stringing. It's only 20% done with several hours to go but so far looks great.

Was the benchy pre-sliced? If so and you sliced the box yourself, your slicer software may simply have used better retraction settings. If the benchy was pre-sliced, you could try slicing it with the same settings you used for the box.

I must warn you, though, that this can lead to madness. You will soon have a shelf full of useless little boats, and your family will be convinced you've developed some weird fetish. They'll never understand, no matter how hard you try to explain that this plastic is different than all the others.

A good start, but where are the carbon fiber, wood, hemp, coffee and cork fills? The god Benchy demands more sacrifice!

They are comping only working with PLA, PETG and HIPS at the moment. Need a hardened nozzle before I can try some of those 😛

second and third prints turned out better. less to no stringing, and looks like better layer adhesion too. I sliced both of them myself with newest slicer beta. I think ill stick to slicing everything myself it seems to work out better.

I went a little nuts on the box, it was for my change so i wanted it to be strong to be able to hold metal, so i printed it with 60% infill and 4 perimeters, it took forever, like 14.5 hours.

Usb holder was standard settings, took just over 2 hours. Little bit of stringing on the edges of the lettering but other than that looks great.
