First Layer Test Problem?
Hello, Just got my kit together and everything seems good until I run the First Layer check where the printer lays out some zig zags on the bed and you turn the knob to find the best height. I done this test like 7 times now and I'm starting to wonder if I need to adjust other settings to get it right. The filament will not stay on the bed and gets stuck on the nozzle and creates a mess. I clean it off and try again. Is there any suggestions on getting it to stick right? I clean the bed each time I test with 95% alcohol, bed temperature is factory at 215 I think, and I'm currently at a .75ish Z height.
Looking for ideas?

Dish soap and hot water ... handling only by the edges, use fresh paper towels to scrub and dry.

You might have to do fine adjustment to the leveling. Try to print the included file and look at the differences in different spots. then you can fine adjust the Z value under Calibration>Bed level correction

fyi: why people can't figure out how to post to the forums is crazy. Drag and Drop - how confusing is that?
Here's a test coupon to slice and print:
And this is how they should print: and they should adhere like they are masking tape and be somewhat difficult to peel off.
RE: First Layer Test Problem?
Thanks for the suggestion all. After a little time working with it, I've got it looking pretty good. My problem was I didn't have the Z gap set low enough to properly press the filament into the bed surface. Couldn't see that at first, but I got a good flash light and saw it better. It seems to have a little curly tail on the end when extruding too high.
One other thing I noticed is when starting an extrusion a little filament starts to come out and curl up onto the nozzle before the print starts. I did notice some interference with the printing when this occurs. Does anyone else see this? Is there something you do? Kind of makes me want to get in there and pull it off the nozzle before the print starts.
Also a note about the prox bed sensor holder. I found it extremely difficult to adjust the prox sensor in that holder! I loosened the M3x10 screw but it seemed to not sufficiently loosen the sensor to allow fine adjust. I had to press really hard to get the sensor to move down. Upon reflection, I think I could have put a screw driver into the slot to open the holder a little to free it to move.
Thanks again for all the help everyone. Now I start my first print..
