First Layer shifting problems part way through.

Hi Guys,

Got my first MK3S and spend the weekend building it. All physical testing while I was going through the process checked out, and the preflight configuration all came back with no issues. Did the Z-Calibration which seemed to print fine (although I think I need to drop it more), however when I am printing the Prusa logo, this is what I get for the first layer.

At first it prints fine, then all of a sudden it will start moving in the Y-axis halfway through a line, leaving the gaps you see. I first though maybe the extruder was loose, but it looks ok and I cant see it shifting at all. I also though the Y belt might be the issue (slipping), but it again seems to be ok. I was then thinking maybe it is extruding too much plastic (causing it to move into another line), but some of the errors make it look like it decided to shift intentionally rather than a accidentally.

Any ideas where to start looking to try to resolve this?

Thanks!

Ok, so I realized that I was going about it wrong. The Y axis was moving fine, and I should of been looking at the xaxis. Turns out the grub screws on the gear were not exactly tight, and the belt was rubbing a bit on the plastic, so I moved it in addition to tightening the screws.

Next print test was a big improvement from what I posted above. Still might be some issues with Z level, but the issue for this post seems to have been resolved.
