First layer opinion
Just wanted to get peoples opinion on the first layer, too high, too low? I have had the printer for 3 weeks (first time printing) and was able to print a number of things and I have already adjusted the "Z" multiple times and am currently at -1.275. I do get prints moving once in awhile even after warm water and dish soap cleaning. So I am thinking maybe the "Z" is not right.
Here is a pic with the "Z" set at -1.275. Do you think it is too high, too low, just right?
Also, do you think prints not sticking is more likely when the extruder is too high or too low? Or doesn't matter?
Still quite high
Try going ten or twenty microns lower. There should not be bumps between the lines and the bottom should look smooth and shiny
RE: First layer opinion
Thanks Dan
RE: First layer opinion
I just printed a few things with no problems and yes the first layer looks alot better. I am now at -1.315. I don't know if its perfect yet but I am consistently finishing prints. Being new at this I realize now that there is definitely a learning curve. Being impatient doesn't help.
Looking better. Give it another ten.
It can still get smoother ... give it another 10 microns. If it starts to look wavy on the first layer you went a little too low.
RE: First layer opinion
I will go lower. Appreciate the help.
