Filament scrapping the intake hole.

Hi all, I just assembled my (second) printer. I ran an overnight print that failed because the filament stopped feeding. There's a pile of dust built up and I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions on what's causing this.

My guess is this friction stopped the gears gripping the filament...

Looks like the filament is rubbing as it passes through the filament sensor, which causes more and more friction and ends up getting blocked.

Any ideas?

That is odd. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like something is mis-aligned.

Did you double check the filament path through the extruder gears?

If you have another printer, measure the location of the filament entry hole and make sure the dimensions match the new printer.

There have been some recent posts where folks were having trouble with a tight fit through the filament sensor path. IIRC, the solution was to file some material off the lever arm to aid clearance.

I’m sure someone here has seen this and has a solution.
