Filament Not Extruding
Recently purchased i3 MK3S+ in assembled form. Took out of box and plugged in, started setup process.
Out of the box the assembled version comes with the Prusa text print on bed and filament in the head, with about 4 inches sticking out the top.
I attempted to unload the filament, using the option in the menu.
I struggled to remove the filament when it prompted after multiple tries, I don't think I was doing it properly at first.
I cannot remember the exact order of events, but I also attempted to use the load filament option to try to get filament to extrude. I pushed on the filament as there was none coming out. This was unsuccessful, and I was still unable to remove the filament using the unload process so I completed a factory reset and calibration.
I was finally able to remove the filament from the head, but when it came out it came with a clean, flat end, unmelted.
I then loaded filament from the provided prusa spool and attempted the loading procedure. It pulled the filament in for a bit, but then would stop pulling while the motors still moved. No filament would come out of the hot end after repeatedly choosing the "no" option in the prompt asking if filament of the right color was extruding.
Hoping I did not break any internal components.
What can I do to figure out what exactly the issue is, and then how do I fix it? I appreciate your help.
Sounds like your nozzle may be clogged. Since it's new, I would suggest contacting support.
RE: Filament Not Extruding
My exact situation right now. Pretty disappointing.
RE: Filament Not Extruding
I think you need to choose the temperature before you will be able to remove your filament. If you have broken it off because you didn't choose the temperature (two clicks required to remove filament) - then I suppose you are in the land of improvisation ...
RE: Filament Not Extruding
I did as the instructions asked during setup. I waited for the beep that notifies me that I'm good to remove the filament.
