Extruder motor not moving to load filament
I have disassembled the extruder assembly 3x now. Getting good at it with practice. I checked for jams or stuck filament and clear all them all. Reassembled, run the wizard. I get passed the motor, x y z , tool and hotbed tests all fine. The mesh calibration pass as well. Up to the part where it asked me to if filament is loaded., it is where i try to load it but the motor doesn't work or move to load the filament. I help it out by manually loading i.e. open the extruder idler and load the filament to the tetlon white tubling until it reaches the nozzle. close and screw the idler back and retest the extruder. No movement on the motor when it try to extrude via Octoprint. Any suggestions, ?
RE: Extruder motor not moving to load filament
No motor movement at all suggests a damaged wire, disconnected cable, or mangled cable connector pin. Did motor wire get pinched during your work?
RE: Extruder motor not moving to load filament
Is the filament sensor enabled or disabled? And is it working - i.e. - changes state when inserting filament?
RE: Extruder motor not moving to load filament
(I3 Mk3s KIT) I'm having same issue only mine clicks back and forth if I help feed it, it will go down but it just clicks. after I manually push filament out, I can select the unload it seems to work. I can't even test first layer calibration because of this. I have made sure everything is lined up.I even checked the door with the spring tension pulley and it has no slop and spins freely. I did have to mess with the filament sensor also , but I got that to work properly. I have selected pla temps in settings(and tried 230 also) and stuck a piece of filament in the hole and selected extrude axis with NO material touching gear and it just clicks back and forth. I have tried 2 different pla and 1 pet...no difference. I have tried different tensions on the idler gear and nothing changes.

RE: Extruder motor not moving to load filament
can you ensure that :-
the motor wires are n0t trapped anywhere,
the motor wires are not broken, (unlikely if the motor unloads Ok)
the extruder wires are properly inserted in the extruder plug,
the extruder plug is firmly in the socket

RE: Extruder motor not moving to load filament
That's what it was, I had double and triple checked putting all the wires in correctly , but went and looked after I wrote this and the only thing that I saw was pushing all the extra wires into the box before closing it ....it must have popped the extruder wire out so it wasn't clipped in anymore.
Thank you! Joan
