complete segment shift in prusa buddy print
Greetings everyone
I assembled my MK3 last week and performed all initial tests and calibrations to success.
However upon printing my first print which was the dog I noticed some layer shifting especially next to the feet.
I thought the problem could be with the table so I transfered the printer to solid ground and printed the same file again; however the result was way worse as the complete upper portion of the dog face was shifted out of place. 😕
I attached photos of both prints; please suggest any solutions you can
Thanks in advance
Re: complete segment shift in prusa buddy print
check your belts, make sure they are proper tightness, also make sure the grub screws on the pullys arnt loose.
Re: complete segment shift in prusa buddy print
Try turning off crash detection. It seems to be misbehaving once more with f/w 3.3.1, detecting false crashes and resuming print with a layer shift. It cost me 7.5 hours the other day in a 12 hour print 🙁

I checked my belts tightness and they were ok
X: 265
Y:277
my grub screw is as tight as it can be though I realigned my extruder pulley for just alittle to match with filament pathway

I turned crash detection off as suggested by support but it didn't solve the problem I even reduced print speed to 90% but same problem keeps coming back. I will do another print after readjusting extruder pulley to see if that solves the problem.
Re: complete segment shift in prusa buddy print
Check the belt tightness physically not on the display, it only updates the display when you run the calibration, they could come loose after that and you would not know that by checking it on the display.

Visually the belts are tight well. they are as tight as my Zortrax M200 belts which is producing very nice prints.

I found out the problem with my printer; the x-axis motor belt was rubbing with the hole side it was supposed to pass through. after realligning the x-axis motor pulley the problem was gone.
