Check Axis Length X
So, for some reason after doing successful prints I've got a problem. I've never moved the printer, but I noticed my nozzle was hitting the bed and wasn't working correctly. So, I decided to start over and run the calibration wizard. Well, I ran it and everything checked OK until it got to the 4 point calibration and it failed. I thought, no problem, I'll lower the pinda probe and run it again. Only now when I run the wizard after it checks both fans, it gives an error in the self test to Check Axis Length X. Everything is routed correctly. The motors engage and raise it slightly then it stops with the error. When I hit ok through the screens, the carriage does a slight jog to the right and stops. Screen tells me to fix the error and rerun the calibration. I can't for the life of me figure out what the error is much less how to fix it. Like I said, it passed before (just a few minutes prior to this run)..

Common build errors at this point are cable ties behind the extruder hitting the frame or cases. On sometime people add fan grills to the cooling fan.

Well, It would be different if this was a new build. This isn't a new build, I've been using this machine for nearly 8 months and this is a sudden issue that just happened after a successful print even.

Something has obviously changed. You might restore the version of firmware that you had when you built, see if it passe the current mechanicals.
Short of that, X size is a simple test of moving the bed side to side, between stops, and reports a fail if it is less than 250 mm. So look for something that limits range of motion. Also, gear or belt slip,even sticky bearings causing motor stalls.

Did you ever figure this one out Eric? I had a similar issue after adjusting my pinda sensor (although I had previously been stuck on xyz calibration, hence the pinda adjustment). I haven't seen any obstructions or bumping during x axis length check, so I'm not sure why it passed last night but not tonight.
Edit: Things that don't seem to happen: 1) Obstructions of any kind on x axis 2) Any gear slippage on x axis. No idea what to do now, but I guess it's contact support.

After 8 months (without lubrication), good chance it is your bearings.
Make sure there are no grooves on your rods, and check for any binding when you move the extruder manually in the X axis.

If you are concerned about lack of Lube, a temporary improvement may be gained by putting a sheet of scrap paper on the heatbed, then putting a little light oil on the smooth rods and moving the bearings back and forth to distribute it. keep a bit of tissue paper handy to catch any excess oil before it drips on your heatbed, and if you are not quick enough the scrap paper should catch any drips...
