Can't close the RAMBo-cover-door, what did i miss ?

Hello!
I kinda feel dumb right now, i took 3 day to build my prusa mk3, and for now, apart from some weird vibration noise, everything seam to be fine.
Everything except that the electric box door can't close ! i double checked if i used the right screw hole (i used the latest online doc) but it look right
it look ... but as you can see in this pic, it can't physically close ...

What did i do wrong ?

Peculiar. Is this a new build kit or have you printed the Rambo box or cover yourself? Only reason I ask is I found a size difference between the Rambo covers between the Mk2, Mk3 and Mk2.5. The Mk3 cover I printed for the conversion I have just done was too narrow so I had to reprint the wider Mk2 cover. By eye the difference in the two looks to be about the amount you have too much of. Yours looks like a Mk2 cover on a Mk3.

What is getting in the way of the door? And did you test it before you plugged in all the electronics?

The only challenge with closing the door is getting all the cables neat and tidy enough that you are not having them hold the door open.

Hey ! Thank's @alfred.w for taking time to reply 😉

This was all new part from the middle of March shipment. I didn't print it, and when i removed the hinge and just put it flat, all the dimension seam to be good, expect that it can't close nor open ...

To my dumb eyes, this look like it just can't work ... but it's weird that i'm the only (or first) one ... i didn't read anything else on this issue.

The cable box is getting in the way of the door, on the pic you can see that the door collide with the body while trying to close.

Here is the width of my door, 5/8th of an inch. It looks like the hinge is in the correct holes. (Sorry, I didn't run out to the workshop to grab a mm measure.)

If your's looks to be the right width, perhaps remove the cables, etc, and investigate further.

I've been there 🙁 , what helped me is that if you check the ONLINE manual ( not the printed one ) Electronics assembly manual, step28 Connecting the extruder cable bundle (part 2) . There are 20 coments ( it confirms that step 28 is not easy ).
"I was able to do this quite easily using the following technique. First unwrap the last 3 wraps so you only have that one extra wrap with the filament sticking out. Thread the filament through the little hole and carefully push the wires through the larger one and also the cable management wrap . Everything is now through the big hole. Carefully pull everything down and pull tight around that extra wrap to cram it into the hole. With the bundle unwrapped it was much easier to slide everything you need through the small gap."
To resume: insert the cables through the hole then wrap them .

Loosen the screws for the hinges a bit and then push the hinges outwards while tightening the screws again. You can do the similar thing on the other side with the box.

Thank's but as replied earlier, i used the online manual, and what's blocking isn't the cable, but the fact that the door basically need to go through the box if it want to close.

That's definitely not the right cover... you need to get somebody to print the real MK3 cover. Perhaps they inadvertently put the wrong cover in your kit.

If that's true then looking at the version number may shed some light? I've got a B3 and A9 for the two pieces for step 8 of the instructions. I don't know if mine fit yet because I'm waiting for a part I broke.

Are you sure ? i'm actually printing the box part edited with the rpi door in it, so if the door is wrong i could print it to, but i what should it look like ?

Your picture shows a door that is thicker than the one in the manual. You tell me:

I am convinced it is the wrong door. It is the only explanation. I have just measured the thickness of all three Rambo / Einsy doors.

Mk2S = 20mm
Mk2.5 = 18mm
Mk3 = 16mm

Which one do you have OP?

Very sorry for the wait, i had such a rough couple of day at work that i didn't took the time to do anything ...
my door is 20mn, and don't have any number on it like the other pieces... witch is very weird

I kinda feel they where issue with my package, because i also had the new y motor holder, but the old extruded holder piece...

There are some Mk3 parts that still don't have version numbers. However 20mm door is bad.

I always find work to be a huge distraction from the serious business of 3D printing 🙂

To confirm I have just measured the thickness of the door on my Mk3, supplied by Prusa in the kit. The door is 16mm thick. Somehow you appear to have been shipped the wrong part, that is why it does not fit. Time to hit up support chat I think.

You think it's worth it ? i mean i can print safely enought without to make my own part... i seam to be the only one with the issue.
i'm shy of customer services 😳

Sure you can print it, just make sure none of your cables catch on the bed as it goes back and forth. More fun to print it yourself anyway 🙂

Me too. MK3 kit with 20mm door, should be 16mm as per published STLs. Kit shipped approx 16th March (didn't have time to build it until Easter break). I'm in contact with support about it.
