Broken PINDA?
Thanks to a plastic blob of doom I ended up having to replace my heater block, cartridge, and thermistor. I'm going through calibration again and the PINDA doesn't seem to be working, on Z axis calibration it will drive all the way into the bed. Reading some other topics it seems like the LED is supposed to be on all the time and only blink out when it's near metal, but it never lights up at all.
I checked that it's connected properly in the Rambo, in case I might have dislodged it. I can't imagine I broke the cable since all I've done is wrap and unwrap the spiral to get the cartridge and thermistor wires in. Is it possible the heated plastic blob broke it? Are there any other tests I can do?
Re: Broken PINDA?
If it isn't lit and yet nowhere near the bed then assuming the connection is OK it isn't working - make sure it is connected in the correct location and inserted correctly, if it is connected correctly then when no metal is nearby it should be lit ... hopefully this isn't a defect on the board - did the 'blob' get to the Pinda ? - I guess not if you didn't replace it.
Re: Broken PINDA?
It got between the PINDA and the heater block. That part of the extraction went pretty cleanly so I never even considered it might be broken, which is a shame because like practically everything else, the shipping costs more than the part. 🙁
