Bed and Flexible Steel Sheet PEI with a little sinkhole
I have just bought a Prusa i3 Mk3, and after 3 days of use (less than 10h of printing in total) I have found a tiny "hole" in the flexible steel sheet PEI (red circle), and 2 "lines" damaged in the bed (orange circle).
I say "hole" because it is just a sinkhole but you cannot see through it.
I am worried. What could be the origin of this? I used really carefully the printer for 3 days, and when I mounted it, I didn't notice these damages, so, I would think it was completely perfect.
Is it problematic to continue printing with these 2 lines damaged in the heating bed?
Thanks
Re: Bed and Flexible Steel Sheet PEI with a little sinkhole
Heat bed damage looks minor. None of the tracings seem fully cut through at those locations. I think safe to continue use.
The divot in the print plate is from nozzle pushing down on it. Most common cause is turning the knob the wrong when when moving Z-axis. You can drive the nozzle too far down in some circumstances.
REMEMBER this rule for when you can't recall which way the axis controls move. CLOCKWISE is safest direction. If you can't remember which way to spin the knob, turn it CLOCKWISE. That is the up direction for Z and also safe for X & Y.
