Any advice for me to get the print part Fan-shroud soon?
I bought my MK3S+ kit during black friday. After opening the box, found that the part Fan-shroud is incompleted. (the top hasn't been finished with missing layers.) I guess I am very unlucky....
Reported to Prusa immediately, their support is good and helping me to sort it out. However, they can't ship it to me due to border/customs issue between UK and EU (I live in UK). As I need it to print something for my project, I want to see if you guys have any advice / alternative so that I can finish my printer as soon as possible.
Thank you so much.

Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!
You can also start a print without fanshroud if necessary. I have also done this when printing PEEK. You can find the STL data for the fanshroud for the MK3S+ here https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/releases/tag/R6 and print it yourself.
good luck!

@karl-herbert
oh that is a wonderful advice. I thought Fan-shroud is essential for printing. Thank you very much.
However, do you think PETG is good enough for that part as I don't have ABS on hand for the moment?

@3dson
If necessary, you can also print the fanshroud from PETG. I think this is sufficient for printing PETG and PLA. You can always buy a roll of ABS and print the fanshroud again.
Is it not possible at all to use the fanshroud supplied by Prusa?

You are amazing and thank you so much.

Fanshroud is part, which cares of distribution of the air from the fan to the printed object. It is quite essential for printing overhangs and bridges. Especially printing PLA uses a lot of cooling.
PETG does not need cooling so much and ABS is even usually without cooling at all.
So you can easily print this from PETG without the part mounted, in worst case decrease the print speed (easily by turning the coding button during print). This will give your print some time to cool down between two layers. Also might be good to print two pieces at once. Again, extra time for cooling down and one more spare part ready 🙂
If you are priting PLA, this fanshroud from PETG should survive. However if you increase temperature to print PETG or ABS, it will probably very fast melt down. So once the shipping to UK is restored, ask for the part. Or even easier, try to ask somebody from UK close to you to print for you.

@milos-v
wow. Thank you so much for your professional advices. I will try to print it with PETG first without the fan shroud. (I am going to print things with PLA for now anyway, guess it will survive) and replace it with the one from Prusa later on when the shipment is restore.
Thank you all for your help. You guys are amazing.

I sent you a message, I have abs and can print you one if you link the correct file.
As a reference even printing at pla temperatures a petg fan shroud will start to deform after a few weeks. More than long enough to print a replacement though.

Oh, you are so nice. Thank you so much. I can see your message but not sure why I can't reply that message (Too new?). I am going to try to do the PETG first and see if it works.
Thanks a lot.

Yeah I think there’s a minimum post count before some of the forum functions become available. Offer is open so if you need one just let me know.
